How to Scrap a Car in Carmarthenshire
You have a car that will not pass another MOT, or a written-off insurance job sitting on the drive, or a van that has not moved since 2020. Here is how to turn it into a pay-out with the DVLA side done correctly.
Step 1. Give us a ring
Call 07974 608 218. Describe the vehicle, make, model, year, condition, whether it runs or needs winching. We give you a price on the call.
Step 2. Have your paperwork to hand
- V5C log book if you have it. If you have lost it, we can still collect, you just fill in a V62 with DVLA afterwards.
- Photo ID, passport or driving licence.
Step 3. We collect
Tilt-bed recovery vehicle, no need for you to lift, push, or winch. We take the keys where available, the logbook, and pay you on the spot, bank transfer or preferred method, whichever suits you.
Step 4. DVLA notification
We notify the DVLA on your behalf. You should receive written confirmation from DVLA that the vehicle is no longer registered to you within a few weeks.
Step 5. Certificate of Destruction
For a full end-of-life vehicle, a Certificate of Destruction is issued via our Approved Treatment Facility partner [ATF PARTNER NAME]. This is the formal confirmation that the vehicle has been properly depolluted and processed.
A note on tax refunds
Once DVLA is notified, any remaining unused months of Vehicle Excise Duty are refunded to you automatically.
